Preparation

Canada has 13 jurisdictions (3 territories and 10 provinces) and each jurisdiction has their own rules that regulate apprenticeships and the writing of certification exams. You must check with your jurisdiction to determine your path to success in becoming a journeyperson. If you have an active apprenticeship, your jurisdiction might make you attend a minimum amount of trade school (for example, two or three years) before they will allow you to write your Interprovincial exam.  Check with your apprenticeship authority.
